Who Is Eric Ruth
And Why Should You
Listen To Him?

Who is Eric Ruth and why should you even consider listening to him? That's important, right? Here's the scoop.

Eric Ruth is openly endorsed as the "go to" fitness marketing guy by many of the biggest names in the fitness industry. He was a featured presenter at Phil Kaplan's Personal Trainer Business Forum two years in a row, Susan Block's Association of Fitness By Phone® Coaches Annual Convention and the Fitness For Life Franchise Corporation (Fitness Together Personal Training Studios) annual convention.

Since launching Fitness Marketing Systems in 1998, over 3,200 fitness professionals have invested in Eric's Ultimate Personal Trainer Marketing Program; another few thousand fitness professionals have invested in the many other products Eric Ruth offers, like Phil Kaplan's TRANSFORM! Technology Revealed, Norm Belanger's Stop The Confusion®, Forrest Walden's How To Be A Rainmaker: Inside Secrets of a $250,000 Per Month Personal Training Studio Owner, and others.

Eric's customer list reads like a "Who's-Who" of the leading fitness professionals in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Although the vast majority of his customers are in the United States, fitness professionals from over 26 other countries are Fitness Marketing Maniacs because of Eric's influence... including FIVE Personal Trainers of the Year plus many of the leading Fitness Together Studio owners, including their two 'Top Dogs' Forrest Walden and Pete Piranio.

The many free resources on this site and Eric's fitness marketing tips email newsletters and Personal Trainer Net Profit Explosion Special Reports are read by tens of thousands personal trainers, many of them claiming the free information alone has impacted their businesses tremendously.

Eric Ruth started Fitness Marketing Systems because it was the logical dovetail of his two passions: Fitness and Marketing. Eric is a full-time, in-the-trenches marketing expert with over a dozen years of real-life experience.

He's not a theorist, he doesn't have a college marketing degree. He has a degree from the real world of APPLIED MARKETING. Eric is a practitioner of direct response marketing, what he calls “smart, results-accountable marketing.”

Eric lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina (and is a Duke fan). He has written hundreds of direct mail letters which have generated many millions of dollars for his clients. He's also been a small business marketing consultant and the former Vice President of Business Development for a multi-million dollar technology firm.

Eric was born in Virginia in 1966, but spent the first half of his life living overseas as the son of an American Diplomat. There he learned a lot about other cultures and how to respect people -- all people -- regardless of who they are, what they have or have not accomplished or where they come from.

Basically, Eric's a good guy who lives by the "give to get" philosophy. (And yes, this is Eric Ruth writing about Eric Ruth in the third person :) Who else is gonna write it? I sure don't have (or want) a publicist!

So let's just cut the baloney and switch to the first person, kay?

I'm not a certified personal trainer. Although many years ago I had a partner who was. And it was she who got me really interested in fitness and was instrumental in getting me to test my marketing skills in the fitness arena. As you can see below, I take pretty good care of myself and fully endorse exercise and healthy eating as probably the only real panacea.

I may not be a fitness professional in that I don't train clients, but I understand you, appreciate what you do and have developed incredibly powerful systems that enable you to get personal training clients to pay, stay and refer...and make a lot more money in this great industry.

Bottom line: If you are in the business of fitness - of getting and keeping clients and customers for your fitness-related business - I can help you.

I hope you'll give me the opportunity to prove that to you.

Now, for your entertainment, some photographs:

Here I am in 2002 when I was pretty hard core (for me, at least) at 178lbs. I was putting in 15 miles of roadwork a week doing 6:45 miles and lifting three times a week. I got down to about 8% body fat... lean and mean. Too bad all that's changed! Now I'm 7 pounds lighter, 2% softer and years older. Yikes!

I was just getting rolling into a top secret presentation on direct mail marketing secrets for fitness professionals here at Susan's Fitness By Phone(R) Annual Convention. That's one well run organization! If you're tired of being an adult baby-sitter, get in touch with FBP.

Low res picture, unfortunately. I'm the guy with the shiny head in the front. This was a great time. I presented to some of the most successful personal training studio owners in the U.S. at this excellent Fitness Together Annual Convention in Cancun, Mexico, March 2004.
